In three books, the Information Transformation series provides practical teacher guidelines and supporting worksheets designed to help students build skills in research planning, sourcing information and transforming their findings to build knowledge and understanding and achieve meaningful conclusions. Book A provides activities that help students identify what they need to find out, and understand how the questions they ask determine the answers they get. Practical skills include: generating ideas, summarising personal knowledge, contributing to group knowledge, asking better questions, and creating and following a plan. Book B looks at ways students can refine and develop their search strategies, teaching them to identify and evaluate the many sources of information and how to use reading, listening and viewing strategies to begin to synthesise what they have found. Book C focuses on how students can transform ideas, data, and information into their own projects. They learn techniques for organising and recording information, and for drafting, polishing and sharing what they know.
